Who is the person Silke Eggert?

In my over 30-year long professional career in international technology and telecommunication companies, I often found myself to be the only woman in a room at leadership level amongst men. While I was fortunate to see diversity starting to play a bigger role and more female leaders being actively promoted and recruited, the geopolitical environment in recent years has sadly led to a backlash in many companies and the percentage of women in leadership positions in Germany has not increased in the last years.

One challenge throughout my career was to stay true to myself and to not sacrifice my female traits in order to be successful. I have always enjoyed working with women and young talents, mentoring and coaching them and seeing them grow. My purpose was to instill a sense of humanity and care in an environment which focused excessively on targets, growth and figures. In hindsight, it is the people I have had the honour to work with, lead and support that have mattered the most to me.
